Mediation

Mediation with a neutral attorney-mediator promotes efficient and respectful conflict resolution.

Mediation is a conflict resolution process that keeps you and your spouse in the driver's seat.  As your attorney-mediator, I will provide you with accurate legal information, thereby empowering you to have a fair negotiation based on understanding.  As an experienced divorce attorney I understand the detailed decisions you will need to make in order to  reach a comprehensive, durable and legally sound agreement. At all times I remain a neutral party, assisting you and your spouse by providing helpful legal information -- I will not provide either of you with strategic legal advice.

I am skilled at navigating difficult conversations productively -- I know when to stay quiet, when to speak up and how to keep you on task. It is my hope that through mediation you and your spouse will develop a productive communication style as you transition in your relationship from spouses to divorced co-parents.

I leverage technology to streamline the divorce process - providing easy access to the documents and information you need.  Each mediation session will have a set agenda, with homework provided between meetings to help you prepare effectively for negotiations.

I understand that divorce is stressful and distracting, disruptive to your everyday life -  I view it as my job to minimize the chaos you experience during the process.

Mediation vs. Litigation: Mediation has numerous benefits for those that wish to be fair and honest in their dealings with one another. As compared to litigation, mediation is cost effective and unfolds at a pace you are both comfortable with.  Unlike in litigation, where your attorneys frequently discuss your case without you present, nothing in mediation happens without your input.  Rather than driving you and your partner farther apart by asking you to stay entrenched in your positions until someone comes out on top, mediation asks you to find a way to meet in the middle that is fair to everyone.

Hourly Rate: $350 (you and your partner may choose whether to divide the cost between the two of you)
